In 1881, The Dakota, the city's most luxurious apartment building to date, was erected on Central Park West, and the neighborhood saw the first glimmer of its illustrious future. The Dakota remains one of the foremost residences in New York and Central Park West has been transformed from the farmland of the 1800's.

Today's Upper West Side boasts miles of retail and restaurants to
suit every taste, along with such venerable landmarks as Lincoln Center, The American Museum of Natural History, Columbia University, Grant's Tomb, and the magnificent Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

Within this landscape of culture and affluence, Central Park West is an address known to all as a mark of distinction.
