Just steps away from 455 Central Park West is New York City's jewel, Central Park.

In the 1850s, New Yorkers who
had admired the public grounds of London and Paris in their travels urged that New York should have a similar feature. In response, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux designed Central Park as a pastoral landscape in the English romantic tradition.
